FAQs

Why choose Ed Kirby Physiotherapy?
At Ed Kirby physio we offer unrivalled expertise to ensure you recover quickly. All physiotherapists working at Ed Kirby Physiotherapy are highly qualified and very experienced. We support each other to deliver high quality care to all of our patients and are able to use advanced clinical practice when needed.
Are you regulated and do you belong to any governing bodies?
Physiotherapists by law have to be registered with the HCPC who ensure all registrants meet their strict professional standards. This protects the public who can check they are being seen by a fully qualified and registered health care professional.
We are also all members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy meaning that us and our clinic is fully insured, and we are committed to providing our patients with a high quality service.
What can I expect to happen during my session?
We will thoroughly assess you and give you a detailed explanation of our findings so that you fully understand your problem. We will give you clear advice and guidance to ensure you make the fastest recovery possible. We offer a range of treatments which may be used during your recovery and you will be given a tailored exercise programme as part of your treatment package. At Ed Kirby physiotherapy we are able to use advanced clinical diagnostics and treatments if needed.
What should I wear?

For women presenting with a neck or upper limb issue please wear a vest top if possible
If you are presenting with a back or lower limb issue please bring shorts if possible
If you are attending our runners clinic please bring your running trainers and suitable clothes for the treadmill.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We have a card machine and accept all major cards apart from American Express.
We can also email you an invoice if you would prefer to pay by bank transfer to our account.
We do still accept cheques.
Are your clinic rooms easy to access and is there parking?

We have two clinic rooms – one at Stansted GP Surgery in Stansted Mountfitchet and one at Woo Wellness in Bishop’s Stortford.

Stansted GP Surgery is served by lower street car park, CM24 8SP. One hour of parking costs 60p.
Our clinic room is on the first floor, but there is a lift.

Woo Wellness is in Bishop’s Stortford town centre and any town centre car park may be used. Causeway car park, CM23 2EN, next to Waitrose, is only a short walk away and one hour of parking costs 80p.
Our clinic room is on the first floor and there isn’t a lift here.

Can I use my medical or health insurance?
Yes we are recognised by all major insurers. We require your policy number and authorisation code to commence treatment. Please check if you have an excess on your policy as you are liable to pay this.
Do you have a sports massage therapist?

We recommend having an assessment session with a physiotherapist before embarking on any treatment to ensure the treatment chosen is correct for you. At Ed Kirby Physio we use soft tissue therapy, including sports massage, as part of our treatments. However, if you would like a dedicated sports massage session, we highly recommend Rick Pearson:
